Fall has begun!

...not only indicated by the color changes, falling leaves and the cooler temperatures -- but also by a UVA Fall Break! We took the 20 minute drive down 53 until we reached the nearby Carter Mountain Orchard.
Here is the view of Charlottesville.

The cars coming up the mountain.
Apples galore!

These are the most heavenly donuts. I will forever be indebted to my neighbor for bringing me one last year. You will never understand how difficult it is not to devour them all in one sitting - so it took a lot of willpower for her to keep one for me!
It is definately worth the trip just so you can try an Apple Cider Donut.
Meredith loves ketchup so much, so tried to suck it out of the package.

Lucas was not interested in smiling for Daddy.

And to go along with the yummy goodness of donuts was an Apple Cider Slushie.
Don't try to make one at home - it doesn't work.

Daddy and Meredith waiting in line...

to be in an apple!

Here are the zooooooomed versions of just the catepillar!

Lucas!

Then we ventured off to the sea of pumpkins....
Meredith tried to pick one up with all her might
when Daddy told her to pick one out to take home.
Lucas just couldn't decide.

Meredith in the perfect pose.

Lucas, contemplating what determines the intensity and brightness of the pumpkin's color.

Oh my gosh, what a fun family trip! Halle and Meredith would get along fabulously, they'd have so much fun with ketchup! I want one of those donuts!
