Sinus & Stuff

My mom gave me a sinus pillow for Christmas. Imagine a cushiony eye mask that is filled with citrus, lavender and camomille. You can cool it and wear it over your eyes to reduce puffiness. You can heat it and wear on your forehead to releave headaches and sinus pressure. I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds, as I have been experiencing a lot of sinus pain lately....

I straped it on my forehead. I swear it felt like I was on fire. This weird chemical reaction happened once it was on my skin.....i could feel steam leaving my head.

I cannot describe the sensation that this pillow gave me...I have sat here trying to put it into words. But I feel so strange. Kind of like I was floating. I think it opened up things in my head that I didn't know were clogged. I want to reheat it and try it again, but I am afraid. My eyes are watering. I have stuff draining into my throat. My nose is running. I don't want to make things worse, because I do need to get to bed soon. But it really has opened up my head significantly.

I swear, this thing is crazy. If you have issues sinus issues, I would check into getting one of these things.

Tomorrow, I am meeting for lunch at the cupcake shop. Okay, strange I know, because you don't eat cupcakes for lunch. But, Melanie believes in eating desert first - you only live once. I am totally shocked that there is a bakery that specializes in cupcakes in the mountains of Virginia. Specialty cupcake bakeries are a fad of the big city. I am very much looking forward to it. There is nothing like a cupcake to brighten your day.

Speaking of cakes, I am trying to plan my baby's 2nd Birthday Party. I have ideas...I have to run them past Richard to see what he thinks....It will be an exciting time -- celebrating birthdays and Daddy being home!

More importantly...I made it my goal to teach Lucas that Daddy was in Baghdad, Iraq. It is much cooler for my 2 year-old to say "Daddy's at work in Baghdad", than just saying that he is at work. It reiterates that we are without Daddy....

And the time that we will be with him again is drawing near!
